Heart of Plymouth
We are located in the heart of downtown Plymouth, Wisconsin. Here, you’ll find a community committed to walking with each other, warm hospitality and a cup of hot coffee, creative and beautiful music, and relevant messages rooted in Scripture. We have a heart for God and believe His love is for everyone.
In our community, we are known as St. John Lutheran or SJL for short. Feel at home, talk as a local, and call us SJL too.
For Plymouth
For too long, the church has been known for what it’s against. We want to be known for what we are for. We are FOR Plymouth.
Since our founding in 1855, St. John Lutheran has belonged to the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. Synod comes from the Greek word “walking together,” and that’s exactly what we do. We walk together as a community of Reliant, Courageous, Authentic, and Generosity-driven people.
Our Beliefs
St. John is more than a place to attend. We are a community centered on the person, mission, and gospel of Jesus Christ. We are called to proclaim and embody the love of Jesus to our community and world.
